WordPress is best known as a powerful, open-source blogging tool, but its simple, powerful set of web content management features, plug-ins and templates have made WordPress the most popular web publishing platform, with over 25 million users. 

WordPress Fundamentals training will provide you with the practical experience necessary to design a website or blog which is both highly-usable and visually impactful. You will leave this training prepared to begin designing a site with WordPress and power your site with the extensive array of themes, widgets and plug-ins developed by the global community of WordPress users and developers. Your instructor has experience with the technical aspects of designing a site with WordPress, as well as the perspective required to develop sites which communicate clearly and compel your target audience to take action.

Getting Started with WordPress

  • Set up a WordPress site and connect it to a database
  • Use the installer tool to install WordPress
  • Navigate the Dashboard and set default content
  • Upgrade WordPress to take advantage of expanded features

Work with Settings and Accounts

  • Specify WordPress settings for writing, reading, discussions, and media
  • Handle permalinks effectively and efficiently
  • Configure administrative accounts and manage user accounts

Set Up a WordPress Theme

  • Overview of the default WordPress theme
  • Select a new theme and tweek it with the customizer tool

Students may withdraw from any course (except when they have late-rescheduled) after instruction has started within 2 hours and receive a full refund, provided the reason for their withdrawal is dissatisfaction with the course. In the case of multi-day and multi-evening courses, students may withdraw after any session before the course's half-way point and receive pro-rated refund for the unused portion of the tuition.
