What you'll learn in this personal beauty class:

The Chicago Botanic Garden’s online herbal hair-care class is a virtual experience you can take anywhere!

Making homemade, herbal hair care offers the opportunity to create chemical- and preservative-free products that can have therapeutic benefits designed for your personal needs. Explore how to work with thinning, brittle, dry, or oily hair, as well as several skin conditions associated with the scalp. Learn the best herbs and optimal preparations to make nourishing rinses, conditioning treatments, masks, waxes, gels, and herbal oils for hair. Recipes, demonstrations, and discussion are included.

This class will be taught online via Zoom. Registered students will receive login instructions one day in advance.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

Refund requests must be submitted to [email protected] 24 hours prior to the program’s start date and time. The registration fee will be refunded less a 10 percent processing charge. A refund is issued in the form of a credit on file (to be used for future programs).

No refunds for cooking classes or supply-heavy horticulture and art classes will be made within 48 hours prior to the class date and time.

Fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable on and after the program’s start date. We cannot refund fees requested on or after the start date of a program or for sessions missed due to student illness or other personal situations.

Registration fees for courses grouped and priced as a series will be considered one program and subject to all of the above guidelines. A refund request must be received prior to the start date of the series' first class session and will subsequently cancel your registration in every session of the series. If you choose to re-register for other sessions in the series, the special discount does not apply.
