Michael Long

Teaches at Los Angeles Center of Photography

Michael Long (www.MichaelLongArtist.com), visual artist, earned an MFA degree in photography from the University of Colorado and a BFA degree in photography from the College of Santa Fe. He also studied abstract painting at the Art Students League in New York under the direction of Richard Pousette-Dart. In addition, he earned a Doctorate of Naturopathy degree from Clayton College of Natural Health. He has taught photography and painting for more than twenty-five years, including at the Santa Fe Photography Workshops, University of Colorado, Eastern New Mexico University, University of Hawaii, Dar al-Kalima College (Bethlehem, Palestine), The Contemporary Museum (Austin, TX) and the Dougherty Arts School (Austin, TX). He has exhibited extensively nationally as well in Italy, Netherlands, Columbia, and Mexico. Michael Long founded and directed Austin Photography Workshops from 2009-2013.
