Valerie Turner is a native New Yorker with southern roots in Virginia and Georgia. She plays fingerstyle Country Blues guitar and her main influence was the music of Mississippi John Hurt. Mentored by John Cephas, a great Country Blues musician from Washington DC, Valerie is part of the acoustic blues duo known as Piedmont Blūz. Valerie looks forward to joining the Jalopy faculty for 2020.
