Learn Modern Brush Lettering Calligraphy on your PJs!
Calligraphy isn’t a lost art, it’s just an art that you haven’t learned yet. And with all this social distancing imposed on us due to the recent pandemic crisis, what better way to spend our time than learning a new skill that can be applied to letters, cards, invitations, signs, place cards, or just to give your penmanship a little pizzazz.
In this class you’ll learn the techniques you need to create the thick and thin lines of the 8 basic strokes that, when combined, make the beautiful letterforms of modern brush lettering calligraphy.
Together, we will:
- go over the 8 basic strokes
- practice creating an elegant modern calligraphy alphabet using a brush pen and a fauxlligraphy alphabet using a regular pen
Because the class is live, you’ll have the chance to ask questions as the workshop proceeds and you will receive personalized feedback on your lettering, and this is what makes this class different from a regular online workshop, you get the instruction AND you get to have all your questions answered live.
No prior experience is required and you’ll receive my Modern Calligraphy Brush Lettering Workbook to print. All you need to purchase is a brush pen (or a Crayola marker) and tracing paper, both of which are super inexpensive. I will provide a link to Amazon, but if you don’t want to get these items, you can do it with a regular pen on any plain paper you already have (these will be for the fauxlligraphy alphabet).
The workshop will be conducted over Zoom and you will need a webcam and microphone to participate. Detailed instructions on how to join the session will be emailed with the workbook once you have registered. And after the class is over, I will share the recording so you can replay over and over. You’ll also have the option to join a private Facebook group where we can go over any additional questions and get personalized help on your future projects.
