AlterWork Studios was founded by Tina Stipanovic as an open access art and community center. Its mission is to be a major resource for contemporary artists, that helps them create new artwork and advance their careers by offering them access to affordable workspace, tools, classes, workshops and public exposure.
Tina Stipanovic is an artist with an MFA from Parsons School of Design in NYC. She has spent the last 10 years building a community as the owner of RaR Bar, a bar, eatery and DIY arts and music venue adjacent to the studios. She is also an independent curator for the Kaufman Arts District in Astoria and the creator of the District's Backlot Art Festival.
