The Art of Intuitive Photography is focused on enhancing your intuition in photography, learning how to see differently, and compositional improvement. It is open to all photography levels and all digital cameras (including point and shoot). This is not a technical class, however we will go over basics to those who request/need it.

We will conduct exercises to tune you into your intuition, and learn how to take photos by following it. In addition, we will focus on the differences between looking, observing and seeing. Throughout the class we will give feedback on how to better the composition of your photos. You will notice that by the end of the class you will not only be looking at the world differently, but you will have better photographs to prove it!

How we are different:

  • Fun for all ages
  • We teach photography classes, workshops and lessons to adults and children/teens in various fun locations in NYC. Learn how to use your camera, improve the composition of your images, join a photo tour, or learn how intuition can help you take creative photos.
  • Personal and hands-on.
  • If you're tired of traditional classroom teaching or frustrated with reading manuals or watching videos, join one of our classes for an authentic way of learning while getting the personal attention you deserve.
  • We offer a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with a session you attend.

Our students are typically those who want to learn how to use their camera (starting a hobby or going on vacation) and wanting to know how to be more creative with their photography.

Can you recommend activities to do in the neighborhood before or after class?
We teach our classes in all different locations. It is recommended to explore the area. Walk down streets or turn corners and see something visually interesting to you.

Mindy was truly amazing! I learned so much in the 3-hour beginners class, and left feeling so much more knowledgeable in how to use my camera. She was extremely detailed in explaining everything, but also keeping in mind that I have no experience with the camera when teaching which is a PLUS! I definitely would recommend this class to someone who is trying to learn the camera for the first time. Thanks, Mindy!

Instructor was friendly and patient. We learned a few things about how to focus on a subject, how to use the grid, and the lighting, and what apps to use to edit the photos.

Sepia definitely brings a great energy to make the class fun and engaging. I was excited to learn more from the start. During the class, I learned to look at taking photos in a different way to enhance the quality of my images. I also learned some great editing tips that helped me to produce a great photo at the end of class. I will continue to practice the great tips in my photography that Sepia shared.

The class was absolutely fantastic as the instructor was extremely thorough and use whatever was effective in getting the point through to the participants. It certainly outshine my entire online learning experiences as she was able to answer the little details that comes up during a live class that cannot be addressed immediately in an online situation and thus at times is never addressed. She illuminated for me many of the subtle nuances that I have grappled with for sometime with respect to working in manual mode and I was completely blown away with my ability after a single session that it all came together with me being able to capture images in manual mode. Big up to the instructor on a successful mission. So, to all the newbies are oldies out there who like myself have been stuck in automatic mode and still not getting the desired results, I would highly recommend this instructor to rekindle or begin your journey in overcoming the hurdle to transmission to MANUAL and discover the self-empowering ecstasy that awaits.

I had taken two photography classes in high school, but I wanted to brush up on the basics before my honeymoon - a safari in Africa. My wife needed the full intro. This classes helped us both enormously. Mindy was careful to go through everything such that it was clear to a beginner, but I didn't feel that my time was being wasted at all. I was surprised at how much was packed into the three hours given how deeply we went into each topic. I definitely well prepared for the trip.

The class was great! We covered a lot of ground but without feeling overwhelmed! Things were broken down in an easy to understand manner. Now I just need to take what I learned and practice !
