My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time during our VIP tour of the Met. The tour was a birthday gift to me from her and I looked forward to it for weeks. Our tour guides, Anna and Frank, were knowledgeable and humorous. They tailored our tour on questions they had asked our group at the start. We saw numerous artifacts and paintings and were given the "inside scoop" on the works we encountered. They even held a contest on who took the best photo of a subject that they picked out. I happened to win that contest and the prize was something that I was very fond of in the museum store. Anna even took pictures of us in front of a sculpture of our choosing and she printed them up so that we can take them home. Overall it was a terrific way to spend and evening.
My husband and I are Met members, but this was an entirely new way to tour the Met. Our tour guides were very well-informed and friendly. We had so much fun browsing the museum with our tour group! There were lots of laughs, great stories about artifacts we had never even noticed, and some fun games as well. I'd recommend this tour to anyone looking to squeeze a lot into a few hours. I highly recommend to both out of town visitors and native New Yorkers!
Lots of fun. Bex and Kelly were excellent guides!
We were very disappointed in the experience. There was too much silliness and not enough learning. Although I know this is supposed to be "hack", I was hoping to see more and here more about the exhibits, the background of some of the artists etc. It seemed there was an emphasis on the bad paintings, and we really only made about 6 stops. We looked at Monet's bad work but how about taking a moment to look at some of the paintings that are beautiful and known? I also felt that the wine was unnecessary, the contests a silly time waster, and the group introductions not important. I am sorry to sound so negative, but I really found the experience to be frustrating. My cousin went a few weeks before and had the same experience. I do not think it was the leader but the design of the program. There should be a way to incorporate fun factoids with serious discussion. To have to listen to a comparison of a Kim Kardashian selfie and a sculpture was embarrassing. The highlight for us was that we dined at the Members Dining Room and exited late and got to see the museum in its' real majesty with no one there. That was something. I am sorry - I had expected more from the night. Petie Patricia Wasseman
Frank was charming, knowledgeable and fun.
Fantastic tour of The Met with MuseumHack crew. Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike!
The tour guide provided us with many interesting facts about the art at MMOA, and about the museum itself. She was entertaining and well informed. Truly a professional. She has set the bar high for this kind of touring.
Our tour guides Bex and the second girl whose name I forget were both awesome and we loved the experience!
Holy crap. This tour was AWESOME!! I am so blown away. Our main tour guide was Kevin. He is hilarious. I always thought museums were boring until going on this tour...it was fascinating. The three hours flew by, and I think I could have stayed on the tour for at least another 2 hours. I think Museum Hacks should offer more tours like this in some of the other museums in the city. I'll definitely do the one in the Natural History Museum. It was great!
Tour Guides were fun and knowledgeable, great date night for the artsy type.
