Museum Hack is a band of overly-enthusiastic, renegade museum tour guides. We lead adventures in New York, Washington DC, San Francisco, Chicago and Los Angeles. Our small-group experiences key on passionate storytelling, juicy gossip, and little-known oddities. It'll be the best 2 hours you've ever had in a museum.
For People Who Don’t Like Museums
Museum Hack tours focus on the incredible works hidden in deep dark corners. Our renegade tour guides will tell stories to keep you engaged in awesomely unconventional ways.
We Hacked It
Our un-highlights tour puts an alternative spin on the museum, featuring other sides to the highlights we love, as well as some of the strangest, wildest, sexiest stories hidden throughout the museum. Each Museum Hack tour is customized based on the audience. Because we have small groups, the guides can modify the agenda based on your experience.
We promise you will have an active, fun, engaging session. 110% satisfaction guaranteed.
Note: Museum Hack tours are for adults only. Minimum age is 18. Attendees under 18 will not be allowed to attend and may be turned away.
I highly recommend that any first time visitor to the Met take a tour - the museum is simply too big and overwhelming if you don't know what you're looking for. What set apart the Museum Hack experience was its effort to make the exhibits accessible to all, even those who aren't fine art experts. Anna and Elizabeth were highly engaging guides and kept the tour funny and interactive. Would definitely recommend this to first time Met visitors
Anna was great! The facts and exhibits were a lot of fun!
Really interesting facts even for someone who has been to the met many times! Unique experience for locals and tourists alike.
We had such a fun time. Emily our tour guide was fantastic!! It was fascinating, interesting and wonderful to visit this amazing museum which we haven’t been to in years. You don’t have to be from out of town to enjoy this tour!
Caroline was a wonderful guide. I had so much fun and was able to engage with the art in a meaningful and exciting way. I would absolutely recommend this tour!
Lia provided us with an entertaining introduction to art at The Met. The 2 hours sped by as she engaged individuals and the group in activities to help us appreciate the art in a unique way. It is a fun way to learn a bit about some of the collections at the museum.
Elizabeth was fantastic. She was enthusiastic, entertaining, and knew so much about all the exhibits. I would go again.
Tour guide humor was stale and overly rehearsed; he was trying too hard to be cute.
The guide was knowledgable and we would have enjoyed more art related content. Too much time spent on low-grade tasks such as describing our wants for the tour, writing postcard and snacking on a chocolate. Focus solely on the art and we could have easily learned about 3-5 additional pieces.
