What you'll learn in this portrait drawing class:

“Painting Selfies” - Capture Your Selfies (or Others) in Painting/Drawing

3 person master class with professional artist. Enjoy a creative and absorbing class as you learn how to paint your own selfie portraits with reference to self portraits by the master painters though out art history. Explore the fundamentals of drawing and painting the human face to create self-portraits. 

Students will work from phone ‘selfies’, photos and personal subject matter as they use exercises incorporating painting techniques, special effects, and mixed media. Learn the proportions of full frontal, three-quarter and profile views to achieve a remarkable likeness with realism, and apply your skills to re-create diverse portraits through your own self expression. Find your creative flow and execute your vision with your own flair, and after a few short weeks, see your confidence grow!

A Note on Materials for Your Session:

  • Fees include all art supplies but NOT canvas/wood panel
  • Please bring a canvas/wood panel 18X24” with you to class or available for purchase in the studio at $35 
  • Acrylic, gouache, collage, oils
