Description

What you'll learn in this metal working class:

A truly general and deep exposure to the plastic world of chasing metal. This European, North American and Asian chasing techniques are discussed and taught, as is steel theory and tool making. Hammer design, alteration options and use, pitch making and its control are discussed. Pitchbowl making is addressed. 

Tool types described include forming, planishing, lining, veining, gadrooning, matting, side/set down, pearl punches, stamps, chain, pattern, Mexican and Laotian tools. There is an introduction to European and Asian chisel work for carving metal. Cloth area inlay on steel is demonstrated. Control factors in chasing are defined. Pitch making and handling is shown.

Making Chasing tools

This workshop teaches a deeper view of chasing and repousse tools than otherwise available. Tool types include, forming, planishing, lining, veining, gadrooning, matting, side/set down, pearl punches, stamps, chain, pattern, Mexican and Laotian tools. There is an introduction to European and Asian chisel work. Cloth area inlay on steel is demonstrated.

Refund Policy

Refund less 5% cancellation fee is available if cancellation request comes in 11 business days or more before the class starts.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
