Sunday Oct 27th, 12pm - 4pm
We are a drawing group of like-minded people who share a passion for drawing. We meet and draw at iconic New York City locations, such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The New York Public Library and Central Park.
Our Mission is to provide real and tangible results for drawing students of all levels, from beginner to professional, in a nonjudgmental environment.
Our classes are for you if you have been wanting to get back to your drawing, start drawing or improve your drawing skills.
Run by the drawing instructor at The National Arts Club, these sessions include personal discussions of your work for each attendee. Simon Levenson will help you with the basics that are shared by all students, such as value, depth, shading, line, etc... but also assist you in pursuing your unique goals to help you improve individually.
Join us for a group class in this amazing city with an artist who is already out there doing it.
Inviting atmosphere, great model, and nice classmates!
The class was easy to find and had a very inviting group. The model was great!
Wonderful model, friendly atmosphere!
I've attended several sessions with Drawing NY and they are awesome. I'm new to figure drawing and thanks to Drawing NY I have improved. This Long Pose sessions offers what I needed: more time with the subject. The model holds the same pose in 20 minute segments allowing for 8-9 segments. Plenty of time to really focus on the drawing or spew out several if you're an experienced artist. The atmosphere is tranquil and very professional. Simon, the coordinator, is a professional artist and does a great job executing this session along with other Drawing NY events.
Nice uninstructed class. Room hot—even model was sweating. But class leader is kind and helpful and class is run professionally. Excellent place to practice skills.
I loved it. Great experience. Beautiful place too
Thought it was really boring, but you get what you pay for - show up, no direction or help, draw the model.
Never did this before and it was so enjoyable. Note, no teaching goes on here, just the opportunity to try out or practice your figure drawing skills. Enjoy!
I was disappointed with this class. This was actually not a class with instructor / guidance, a group of people meet up to develop their skill. No instructions are provided, I won’t recommend this class if you are expecting to develop your skill with an instructor.
Super amazing class! I’m not a trained artist and I blended right in! The model was awesome, and the instructor was personable and welcoming. The space is beautiful and although it was small, it was perfect. Plenty of room to set up and draw. I love the structure, drawing in silence, short poses for 5, then 10, then 20 minutes at a time, with quick breaks in between. I can’t wait to do it again!!!!
