Fern & Fossil, founded by Samantha Katehis in Newark, NJ, offers interactive terrarium workshops and plant care products designed to make plant care accessible and enjoyable. Their workshops emphasize creativity, sustainability, and urban community building, aiming to bring the joy and mental benefits of plant care to people of all ages.
Inspired by her interest in plants and work as an arts educator, Samantha Katehis started Fern & Fossil as a way to make plant care fun and accessible to both kids and adults in her hometown of Newark, NJ. Fern & Fossil has grown to include in-person and remote Terrarium Workshops, custom decorative arrangements, gift items like our Seeded Journals and Fern & Fossil Terrarium Kit.
