This beginners drawing class is perfect for all levels, total beginners included! Everyone can draw, including YOU! With a professional NYC artist and inspiring educator as your guide and teacher, you will learn the most valuable drawing techniques that are fundamental to drawing, including composition, shading, mark making, line quality, and your own personal style.

Feel inspired by the beauty and inspiration of world-famous paintings, sculpture and architecture in New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art art as YOU:

Receive tailor-made, encouraging one-on-one expert art instruction in drawing
Feel inspired to create drawings with the MET museum’s life-size sculptures, portrait busts, master drawings and paintings, and interior spaces such as Egyptian Temples and views of Central Park as your muse

PLEASE NOTE:

Museum admission is included in the cost of this art class. The Art Studio NY will purchase and provide weekly entry tickets into the MET for all students of this drawing class, please be on time to receive your weekly ticket.

Art materials are not included. Please purchase and bring the following weekly:

Drawing paper of any size that you are comfortable carrying (Please do not purchase newsprint)
Drawing pencils: 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, and 4B
Kneaded gum eraser (looks like a gray gum-like square)

Refund Policy

Class tuition is neither non-refundable nor transferable. No refunds will be issued after registration and payment. In case of a Medically Certified illness, a credit will be issued after receipt of your physician’s documentation. The value of the credit will be for the balance of the remaining class sessions with an additional deduction of a $95 registration fee. Credit may be used up to 12 months.

If after your first class you are dissatisfied with the quality of your course, a written note must be submitted within 1 business day after your first class. After receiving your note, refund of class tuition will be reviewed by our staff. If a refund is granted, processing of refunds requires 8-10 weeks. A 5% nonrefundable processing fee will be applied.

Course Cancellations

Although course cancellation is quite rare, The school reserves the right to cancel classes or change instructor assignments and makes every effort to notify students in advance. If enrollment goals are not met, a course may be canceled up to 1 business day before the first scheduled class. In the event of cancellation, a refund or credit is granted. On occasion, a course start-date will be pushed back if enrollment goals are not met. In this instance, you will receive a credit for the price of the class that did not take place.

Please note that there will be NO exceptions to this under any circumstances.

Make-up Policy

Unfortunately, The school does not offer any makeups for classes missed. However, if the student wants to get the most from the course and the absence, they can tell the instructor when they will be absent and the instructor can provide some guidance on exercises to practice while away.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
