This fast paced single focus class will help you bottle things up! The class will spend two nights in the hot shop covering bottle making and one night on stoppers. In the fourth and the final week we’ll migrate over to the cold shop and learn the basics of sandblasting, flat grinding and hand lapping to make sure our pieces fit together smoothly.
What to Expect:
The first 40 minutes of every class with a demonstration then students will divide up and work as teams to make their own bottles and stoppers. Emphasis will be on teamwork and collaboration with a focus on having fun and practicing techniques. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.
Eligibility:
Some previous experience is required for the class. Students should have attended at minimum one intro course and be comfortable gathering, making punties and should be familiar with the steps to making a cup.
Pick-up: You can expect to bring some work to fruition during class that can be taken home at the end of the week. If anything is made on the last day of class, students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
