What you'll learn in this metal working class:

Behold the power of electricity to ionize gas molecules and create a shooting stream of plasma that cuts through solid metal.

Spend three hours learning the ins and outs of plasma cutting, including setting up and using the machine, safety, and techniques. Learn how the plasma cutter can help you cut out intricate shapes in metal with relative ease.

Students must be age 18 and over. No prior metalworking experience required. Please wear closed toe boots, long sleeves, and long pants.

A $10 materials fee is included in the ticket price to help offset the high use of electricity.  Shade #5 goggles and gloves will be provided for each student.

Informative and fun class with a small group and knowledgable teacher. A great artists and artisan space with multiple uses. Look forward to more classes at Makerspace. If you take SIR from the south of Staten Island, sit in back of the train and exit is right there, space is short 2 blocks away. Easy access.

Great class. Scott is an excellent instructor. He clearly loves what he does and his enthusiasm and sense of humor are infectious. His experience and knowledge are flawlessly infused in his instruction. Classes are small and there is a lot of hands on experience. A great intro to plasma cutting.
