What you'll learn in this wine class:

Do you love to drink wine, but don’t quite know the difference between Barolo & Barbera? Have a bottle of Etna Bianco, but don’t have the faintest clue what to serve with it? Ever wonder what the term malolactic fermentation meant? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then we are here to help! Join us for our first ever full immersion wine course at Eataly. Only for this special weekend, our beverage director and talented sommeliers and chefs are at your disposal to teach you everything you need to know about wine. At the end of this 3-day course, you’ll walk away with an Eatalian certification in wine and a lifetime of good sips and pours ahead of you.

As an introduction to this three-part series, this class will focus on the steps of properly tasting wine and the fundamental aspects of wine production.

In this class, guests will:
  • Listen as our head beverage director, Emily Hand, introduces the proper steps of tasting wine
  • Explore the anatomy of the grape, and how it is treated and processed to make different types of wine
  • Learn the fundamental steps of wine production, no matter their origin
  • Discover the differences in production for red, white, and rosé wines
  • Taste 6 different wines and enjoy them with light fare
  • Take home menus and wine tasting notes
Class duration is approximate and may vary by 10-15 minutes. Seating is first-come first-served. All guests planning to consume alcohol must be able to produce a valid government-issued identification to prove they are 21 or older.
