Join us for our Online 2-Week Scene Study Acting Intensive with TOP TV/Film Director Lanie Renfroe!
Growing up in a conservative Southern town, Melanie was desperate to get out, and movies and television were her escape. From Sesame Street to My So-Called Life, from Goonies to Pulp Fiction, she was raised by TV, and movies were her first love. After taking as many drama and film classes as possible at the University of Georgia, she fell in love with the art of Casting.
After graduation, she packed up her car for a cross country move to Los Angeles, to pursue the dream of becoming a Casting Director. It was the farthest she’d ever been from the place she’d grown up, and she’d never felt more at home. She pounded the Hollywood pavement and made that Casting dream a reality.
After working as a Casting Director on over 150 episodes of television including Showtime’s Shameless, TNT’s Southland, and countless others, she discovered that her love of working with actors was possible on a whole next level as a Director on set.
She hopes to direct television and features that create dialogues around “taboo” subjects, bring awareness to mental health, and help give strength to those who may feel unseen or voiceless.
Prep Instructions:
- Class 1: Please bring a 2-3 page scene from Film/TV
- Class 2: Please bring a 2-3 page scene from Film/TV
Refund Policy
We don’t offer refunds under any circumstances.
- We require a 2 business days notice in writing to cancel a class, intensive or showcase in order to receive full credit that you can use toward another class.
- Please note that if you’re cancelling a weekend class all cancellations must happen before Thursday morning.
- You won’t receive a credit if you cancel your class after the intensive starts.
- For our reel bookings we require a minimum of 8-Day Notice in writing to get a full credit. If the reel is attached to a class we require an 8-Day Notice prior to the start of the class and not the shoot date.
If the industry professional cancels the class you will receive a full credit of the class that you can use toward any other class at our studio.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
