What you'll learn in this revit training:

Revit is the AEC industry's most popular parametric building modeler. In Autodesk® Revit®, you don't just draw 2D building plans, elevations and sections, you create a digital database of your building, comprising 3D graphical information and non-graphical data.

Revit® includes a library of predefined parametric building components that can be customized to meet your needs. Productivity is improved through increased automation of construction documentation and scheduling. New tools, templates, and construction content that extend the benefits of building information modeling solutions to the construction community are covered in comprehensive exercises.

Question from Audrey
Hello! I just recently graduated from the University of Vermont and am now hoping to pursue architecture in graduate school. However, considering that I don't have an undergraduate degree in any related fields, I know that I need to build my portfolio prior to applying. I'm wondering if this class will help me to do so? I'm also wondering if it is possible for me to enroll in this course without being an enrolled student at Pratt?
Answer from OZLEM O. Verified Student
Hello, I took this course from Pratt. You don't need to be an enrolled Pratt student for this course. I can say that it is not directly helpful for your portfolio but it can be helpful indirectly. Also, while taking this course you will be in Pratt, that means this place has more options than the course, you will see lots of opportunities here.
Answer from OZLEM O. Verified Student
I will advice you taking the course, but don't expect an intensive knowledge after completing it. It is in beginner level and really slow. If you are looking for more intensive course and you don't have enough time for it, you better look 2 week workshops from FIT. FIT`s short workshops are really helpful. Also in Pratt, you can enjoy the learning process and come together with other people who r from different disciplines and motivated to learn.
Answer from Maira S. Verified Educator
Hi Audrey! our Introduction to Revit course has no prerequisites and is open to all. Generally speaking, introductory courses are more about learning the software programs, experimenting, making mistakes and building a solid foundation in the program. In advanced courses, students will hone their skills and have the opportunity to come away with more polished, portfolio-worthy work. Thank you!

Question from OZLEM O.
Hello again, also is it possible to use labs to study except course time? How we will enter the building, should we take a card or something else? Thank you!
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Ozlem! Students enrolled in a semester-long computer-based course, such as Revit, will have access to our open lab seven days a week to practice or to work on assignments. Once a student is registered into a course, they may stop by the Manhattan location to obtain their Pratt Photo ID card. The ID card will allow them easier access into the building. Hope this helps!
Question from OZLEM O.
Hello, are we going to take certificate when we complete the course? Thanks
Answer from Georgia C. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi Ozlem! The school does not offer Autodesk certification for Revit or any of our CAD courses at this time. Students would be able to request a transcript/letter of completion after the course.
Question from [email protected]
Hello, is it possible to enter the course with tourist type visa?thanks
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! Yes, you are welcome to book this class. Thanks!
