What you'll learn in this python class:

Great and easy way to Start Learning Computer Programming, one of the most valuable skills

Starting from scratch we learn how to start using Python and build a foundation for programming in Python. We learn and master how to use major data structures which include Strings, Lists, Dictionaries and Sets. We practice solving common problems usually asked at job interviews and learn how to write efficient and fast Python code. During this program, we cover Big-O notation, the time complexity of an algorithm, and learn most common sorting algorithms. We also learn how to open TXT and CSV files and analyze the data.

Will there be additional resources and homework? Yes! Students will be provided weekly assignment to enhance their Python knowledge and conceptual understanding. Homeworks and resources are reviewed weekly.

Who this program is for:
Everyone who wants to start programming in Python should attend!

You will learn:
  • Pillars of programming: Python built-in Data types

Overall very happy wit the course. The third class became very confusing and hard to keep up. The instructor tried to touch all the materials that perhaps was too much for one class.

Great class to get started with python. Pros - We covered a lot in only three lessons. (Taking your time to go over the notes and exercises afterwards is imperative if you want to learn). -Art and Tim were great teachers who were happy to answer any questions and are very knowledgable. -There was a snowstorm on the night of my second class, and I couldn't make it from work in time. Art let me move to the next cohort with no dramas at all. -Art is always available for questions, he got back to me within minutes whenever I asked him about something. Cons - This may not even be a con, but we jumped straight into the language and syntax. If you are a complete beginner to coding, you'll need to go over what a terminal is, what a shell is, and how enter things in the command line. I had dabbled a bit on Codecademy, but never really attempted to code for real and this was a bit disorienting at first. About 20 min of googling after the first class had me up to speed though. Overall a great class and would totally recommend if you want to start learning python.

A good entry level class, a lot of material is covered and the potential of Python is clear. There were 2 professor, one much better than the other, both really nice guys and willing to give personal attention. The class could have been better structured and better paced. I liked that they do allow time for students to work on programs so a person can tell if they are getting it, this actually did not happen much in the third class and I could tell not many people were getting the material.

Art is terrific and very patient. He knows his material and stops to be sure all are following along. I would highly recommend this class to people interested in learning Python from scratch.
