At the tender age of 25, Bob competed with Hollywood's top acting coaches and was chosen by Lucille Ball to head her renowned talent program at Paramount Pictures.
At Paramount he began his career as a Film Coach, working with such stars as Liza Minnelli in Alan Pakula's "Sterile Cuckoo", for which she was nominated for an Academy award, and Robert Forester in Haskell Wexler's classic, "Medium Cool."
With his expertise ever in demand, Twentieth Century Fox recruited him to head their talent school. There he coached young contract players including, Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot.
At Columbia, Ray Stark was so moved by Bob's work that he arranged to make a documentary about John Huston's memorable, "Fat City."
It was intriguing class. Bob has interesting technique up his sleeve to unlock emotional power; and gives some thought-provoking ideas at the rehearsal. I liked the class, but I wish it went at a faster pace and I had been given more opportunity to participate. It seemed to me, once you defer his 2 classes package deal, you will get automatically downgraded to his "guest" status and you will be just sitting and watching him working with his regular students. In five classes I only did one monologue read and one scene cold read.
Nate G. gave this class 5 out of 5 CourseHorse stars.
