Andrew Certo

Teaches at UrbanGlass

Andrew Certo lives and works out of his private studio in Philadelphia PA. He received his BFA in glass from Tyler School of Art at Temple University and has been working in glass since 2005. Andrew makes use of the hot shop, metals, and multi-media with a focus in flameworking. He has been a teacher’s assistant at the Pittsburgh Glass Center, and the Tyler School of Art and studies under numerous working artists. He has assisted Amber Cowan, fabricating components for sculpture, and works for several professional flameworkers in the inner city. He creates kinetic, interactive mechanisms that make the participant regress rather than progress in an activity as well as making functional objects, and has shown his work at the Pittsburgh Glass Center and in Philadelphia.
