Dennis Briening

Dennis Briening has been Instructional Chair of Scientific Glass Technology at Salem Community College for 7 years. He was previously the glass technologist at the Hercules Research Center for 25 years. Dennis has taught at the Corning Studio and has been visiting artist and assistant to Paul Stankard at Pilchuck and Penland in the early 1990s. He graduated from Rowan U. with a BA in sculpture in 1996. Dennis enjoys using the skills, tools and techniques scientific glassblowing have provided to sculpt glass as well as assisting others to sculpt. Dennis uses flameworking as well as fusing, neon and hot glass techniques in soft and borosilicate glasses. He believes flameworking should free your evolution.
