Paul Shaw is a calligrapher and design historian. He teaches typography and
calligraphy at Parsons School of Design. A member of the Society of Scribes, Ltd. since 1977, he has taught many workshops devoted to blackletter over the years, including rotunda twice before for the Society. Paul is the author of Black Letter Primer (1980) and the co-author, with Peter Bain, of Blackletter: Type and National Identity.
