Heather Hughes first encountered yoga when she was craving a change of pace from her usual gym routine. After her first class, she left sweaty, exhausted and exhilarated. She was hooked. Today, a firm believer in the power of yoga to transform both mind and body, she seeks to deepen her students’ practice, help them realize their unlimited potential, and, yes, make them sweat with challenging sequencing, detailed alignment instructions, and mood morphing playlists. Heather holds a 200 hour certification from conquering lion yoga, a program that unites Tibetan Buddhist teachings with Hindu yoga traditions. She is eternally grateful to all her teachers, especially Kelly Morris, for creating conquering lion and teaching her how to roar; Alyssa Scheunemann, for introducing her to the practice changing, heart opening impact of adjustments; and Sangeeta Vallabhan, for first showing her that yoga moves and develops the mind as well as the body.
