Jamie Lau is a designer, sewing instructor, fashion writer, and author. A self-taught seamstress consistently inspired by her love of dresses, Jamie infuses a playful nostalgia into her work by transforming simple silhouettes into fashion forward frocks sewn in Japanese prints, luxurious brocades, ikats, and her original textile prints for her line Jamie Lau Designs In addition to doing custom work (including bridal) and teaching sewing courses at the Textile Arts Center and around the country, Jamie is the Co-Author, Lead Designer, and Art Director of BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern, an in-depth pattern making and sewing guide published in 2012 by Potter Craft (The Crown Publishing Group/Random House, Inc.).
