Jiyeon is an independent programmer based in New York City.

Previously, she was a chemist at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard Medical School- her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and American Chemical Society’s Medicinal Chemistry Letters.

She is an active member of the technology community in Cambridge, Massachusetts and New York City- she has served as a core organizer and teaching assistant for RailsbridgeBoston, and as an instructor for Back End Web Development at General Assembly.

The class was informative but disorganized. The instructor was knowledgeable but not an effective or polished communicator / teacher. Starting with the basic building blocks and using more real-world, business-oriented examples would have made the class more compelling.

Instructor went off track multiple times. Didn't lay the groundwork of SQL for proper understanding. Still got something out of the class, but would not recommend.
