Asta Sigvaldadottir, born in Reykjavik, Iceland, where she started dancing at the age of 4. As a 13 year old she moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, and as Danish representative she became 6 times national champion in the junior and youth categories as well as finalist at big international events like Blackpool, Copenhagen Open, North-European Championships, Italian Open and many more. Asta has spent years traveling around the world competing, demonstrating, teaching as well as educating herself with some of the most successful instructors of Latin American dancing like Donnie Burns, Gaynor Fairweather, Richard Porter, Barbara McColl, Sammy Stopford, Tone Nyhagen, Ruud Vermeij, Lorraine, Alan&Hazel Fletcher and Allan Tornsberg. She spent longer periods of time in Asia, especially Hong Kong and Indonesia, and Russia where she was teaching dancing and educating herself with her own coaches.
