Teaches at Queens Guitar School

Olin Clark is a Michigan native and current resident of Brooklyn, NY. Although he performs many styles of music, his specialty is jazz and rock/fusion guitar. As a composer and arranger, Olin's music has been performed by many ensembles around the United States and abroad. He is an advocate for mentorship in music, believing that the music should be taught to generations through mentorship.

Olin has has played with bands/artists like Etienne Charles’ Creole Soul, Ray Parker, Marcus Elliot, Randy Napoleon, HUSH, Brad Fritcher's MOODS, and MSU Jazz Orchestra I. He also leads his own group, the Olin Clark trio (or sometimes quartet), who have performed at venues all around Michigan and the midwest, including a regular gig at the legendary Cliff Bell's in Detroit.
Outside of jazz, Olin has made a career performing with artists across many different genres including rock, reggae, hip-hop, R'n'B, and house/electronic. He believes all music is connected, and learning different styles of music is essential to an individuals musical growth. Some bands he performs with now or has performed with are Speak Easy, Jahshua Smith and the Racecard, Cameron Blake, Kim Vi & the Siblings, and Ozay Moore and the Pocket Change band.

He recently completed a Master’s in Jazz Performance at Michigan State University, where he also earned his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies in 2015. During his time at Michigan State University, Olin has had the privilege of performing with a number of internationally-renowned guests, including Jimmy Cobb, Christian McBride, Jon Faddis, Antonio Hart, Jeff Hamilton, Brian Lynch, Peter Bernstein, Conrad Herwig, Louis Hayes, Tim Warfield, Russell Malone, and Rufus Reid.

Olin has studied with Randy Napoleon, Peter Bernstein, Perry Hughes, and Michael Hyde. He also records regularly and has made appearances in recordings with the Olin Clark Trio, HUSH, Speak Easy, Kim Vi & the Siblings, Cameron Blake, MSU JO1, Jahshua Smith, and the Maria Navedo quartet.
