Mike Tigas has led many of the so-called install parties for journalists and others for groups and at conferences such as NICAR and ONA.

Mike is an apps developer at ProPublica where he analyzes data for investigative journalism projects and creates news applications. Mike is also a cybersecurity expert -he created the Onion Browser, an open-source, privacy-enhancing web browser for iOS which uses the Tor network. Before joining ProPublica, Mike was a Knight-Mozilla OpenNews Fellow and previously worked at The Spokesman-Review regional newspaper in Spokane, Washington.
