What you'll learn in this yoga class:

Acro Yoga is a combination of acrobatics, yoga, and thai massage therapeutics.

This practice is tremendous for many reasons but especially:
  • gaining or gauging balanced mobility and strength in the hamstrings, hips, and ankles
  • training proprioception (where your body is in space), which is the strongest predictor of pain-free living, and
  • cultivating trust through verbal and nonverbal communication.
The workshop will begin with a series of acro yoga conditioning drills to develop the skills needed for counter balancing. Next, we will explore partner-assisted ways to practice the essential components of handstand - alignment, tightness, and balance - because much of acro yoga happens upside down for the flyer. The bulk of the workshop will consist of learning how to enter, exit and transition through the fundamental poses in L-basing with fluidity and most importantly how to become an excellent spotter.
