What you'll learn in this comedy writing class:
You’ve long dreamt of writing for a late night show like The Tonight Show or Jimmy Kimmel Live. To make that happen, you’re going to have to write a submission packet or two…or dozens. As a head writer, I’ve read countless packets to find the few writers I’m hiring for a particular show. This 1-day intensive class will teach you what I wish writers knew when they submitted to shows and what I wish I knew when I was a younger writer.
Topics include:
- How to format packets
- how to translate your ideas into concise and funny pitches
- how to write better monologue jokes
- how to write better desk and field pieces
- and how to conduct yourself in an interview once you get one
The class will be held in Manhattan. Exact location will be sent out closer to class.
