Sharang Biswas is a game designer, interactive storyteller, writer, and artist in NYC. He started running interactive stories in middle school. He tried becoming a bioengineer at Dartmouth, but (not-so) secretly practiced game design at Tiltfactor Lab while an undergrad. After two engineering degrees, he decided to finally say “screw it!” and attend art school for his Master’s, specifically the ITP program at NYU-Tisch, where he focused on interactive storytelling. Sharang has since made games independently and at organizations such as the Metropolitan Museum, and taught game design at Museum of the Moving Image, The Montclair Art Museum, NYU, and various high schools. His game criticism and analysis has appeared in publications such as ZAM andKill Screen, and his interactive theatre and storytelling performances have been shown at Tisch, the Come Out and Play Festival, The Brick Theater in Brooklyn, the Museum of the Moving Image, and memorably, in the middle of Washington Square Park during a political rally. His latest board game, “Mad Science Foundation,” is scheduled for release this summer by Cryptozoic Entertainment. He is currently the Community Manager at the Institute of Play, and Dungeon Master to a few different groups of long-suffering players. You can follow him at @SharangBiswas.
