Emily Xie & Cassie Tarakajian

Emily Xie is programmer and tech educator. Most of her teaching experience draws from her two years volunteering for the Boston branch of the code education organization, Girl Develop It. As the head of curriculum, Emily taught and managed the development of new coding classes on topics such as PHP, Javascript, and website creation. Aside from her nonprofit work, she has also led technical workshops at national conferences such as OSCON and CodeConf.

Cassie Tarakajian is an artist and technologist based in New York. With a background in electrical engineering, she worked as a software developer at Bloomberg and at Big Human, the creative agency of one of the co-founders of Vine. She has also been an artist-in-residence at Pioneer Works, creating virtual reality experiences, and researcher-in-residence at DBRS Labs exploring creative possibilities of machine learning. She is currently a Processing Research Fellow sponsored by NYU ITP working on p5.js.
